Gaza Water Well Appeal 2025: Bringing Clean Water to Thousands
In Gaza, water is being used as a weapon. With over 90% of water infrastructure destroyed, millions in Gaza have no safe drinking water. Together, we can help change that.
A Crisis That Can't Be Ignored
In Gaza, water is being used as a weapon. Over 90% of the region's water infrastructure has been destroyed, leaving millions without safe drinking water. Families are forced to rely on contaminated sources, if they have access to water at all.
The crisis deepened in March 2025:
Timeline of Escalating Crisis
March 2:
All aid deliveries stopped
March 9:
Electricity was cut off
Desalination output:
Dropped by 85% - from 17 million litres per day to just 2.5 million
This means hundreds of thousands are surviving on dangerously limited water, with devastating consequences.
What Happens Without Clean Water?
Without clean water, nothing else works.
People can't cook or wash. Children can't bathe. Hospitals can't clean wounds or stop infections from spreading. When water stops, the consequences are immediate and deadly:
Immediate Consequences of Water Scarcity
Dehydration
Babies, children, and the elderly are first to suffer
Waterborne Diseases
Diarrhoea, hepatitis, and cholera spread rapidly
Skin Infections
Scabies and rashes become common in overcrowded camps
Loss of Dignity
No way to bathe, wash clothes, or clean wounds
For families, safe water isn't just about drinking, it's about cooking, washing, hygiene, and survival.
Our Response: Deep Water Wells in Gaza
Al-Ihsan Foundation is building deep water wells to reach safer underground sources. We work through trusted local partners who ensure each well is built, tested, and monitored before use.
These wells are life-saving for:
Who Benefits from Each Well
Displaced families in South Gaza
Families without reliable water access
The elderly and sick, most at risk from dehydration
Project Details
Project Cost: $25,000 to construct and install
Each deep water well is built near displacement camps in Gaza.
Every location is carefully documented, and we share updates and progress through our social media platforms so donors can see exactly how their contributions are changing lives.
This is not just about building a well; it's about giving a community a source of clean water they can depend on. In shaa Allah, each well will have a long and positive impact, improving health, restoring dignity, and offering a lasting form of Sadaqah Jariyah for those who support it.
How We Ensure Water Safety
After drilling, the water is tested for quality and safety. After filtration and final approval, these wells become a source of clean water for long-term benefit, in shaa Allah.
Sometimes, the first flow from a new well may be cloudy or not drinkable right away. This is normal. The water needs time to clear and be tested, especially when drilling through multiple underground layers.
Our local teams know this. They test and treat the water, and it is only used once it's safe. Even the sight of water beginning to flow brings joy and relief, especially to children who know it means clean water is coming.
Why This Project Matters
Imagine telling your child you have no water to give. In Gaza it's daily reality. A working well means relief, dignity, and survival.
This is more than a project. It's a lifeline. And every donor becomes part of that lifeline.
