Who is required to pay Zakat al-Maal?
Zakat is obligatory upon a Muslim who:
- Owns wealth above the nisab
- Has owned it for one lunar year (ḥawl)
- Has full ownership and access
Hadith: “No Zakat is due on wealth until one year has passed.”
- Sunan Abu Dawud
