EOFY (End of Financial Year) donations are charitable gifts made before 30 June to eligible Australian charities. Donations of $2 or more can be claimed as a tax deduction.

When you donate to a DGR-registered charity like ours, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allows you to claim the amount as a deduction on your tax return.

Al-Ihsan Foundation has been serving vulnerable communities since 2015. We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, allowing eligible donations of $2 or more to be claimed as tax deductions.

Donations are directed toward humanitarian projects that support food security, clean water, healthcare, orphan care and emergency relief across communities experiencing hardship.

For many Australians, EOFY giving is about reducing taxable income before 30 June.

For Muslims, it can be much more than that.

It's an opportunity to fulfil an act of worship, support those facing hardship, and seek reward from Allah ﷻ while also benefiting from a tax deduction.

Whether your donation is given as Sadaqah, Zakat, or a general charitable contribution, your intention remains at the heart of every act of giving.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that:

A tax deduction does not replace your intention. It does not reduce your reward. It is simply a practical benefit available through Australian law when donating to a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) charity.

If your primary intention is to please Allah ﷻ and help others, the tax benefit is simply a portion of your own income that would otherwise go to the government.

You can even choose to give your refund again.

That's even more reward, inshaa'Allah.

The ATO allows Australians to claim a deduction for donations made to DGR-endorsed charities.

To qualify:

• Donate $2 or more
• Give to a DGR charity (That's us)
• Don't receive anything in return — it must be a genuine gift
• Keep your receipt (we send it instantly)

When you lodge your tax return, enter your donation in the deductions section.

Your EOFY donation will go toward the “Where Most Needed” fund, meaning we'll allocate your generosity where the impact is greatest, whether that's:

• Food aid (hot meals, food packs, bread drives)
• Water access (water wells, mobile water trucks)
• Orphan support (education, healthcare, shelter and food)
• Health & Medical (eye cataract surgeries, mobility aid)
• Emergency relief (shelter, hygiene packs, heating)
