Is Zakat calculated on income, or on what I have?
Al-Ihsan Foundation Admin·Admin·alihsan admin
Zakat is not a tax on your salary. It’s calculated on what you still own (your zakatable wealth) when your Zakat date arrives - as long as it stayed above nisab for a lunar year.
Zakat is attached to ownership, not income history.
